Beacon Maritime has been awarded a $25M contract from Songa Drilling AS for the reconstruction and enhancement of the independent leg, self-elevating drill rig, “Songa Jupiter”. Currently located in Sabine Pass, the “Songa Jupiter” is a Friede Goldman L-780 design that was constructed in Scotland in 1982 and suffered severe damage in a well fire in 1986.
