THE Federal Government will today unveil a new headquarters in the battle to fight terrorism on the high seas. Defence Minister Robert Hill and Customs Minister Chris Ellison will open the Joint Offshore Protection Command (JOPC) in Canberra. The JOPC will link maritime counter-terror elements of the Australian Defence Force with Customs’ Coastwatch division, which is responsible for civil maritime surveillance and regulation.
