Local politicians have waded into the offshore dredging debate, claiming that more research needs to be carried out into the effects on the region’s coastline. Both MP for Yarmouth Tony Wright and the Great Yarmouth Liberal Democrats have expressed concern on the subject. Mr Wright has attacked plans to allow Hanson Aggregates Marine to renew its licence to continue dredging an area 22km east of Great Yarmouth in the North Sea.
