Tokyo (JCNN) – Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) (TSE: 9107) announced on April 12 that it has signed a time-charter contract with Idemitsu Tanker for a new very large crude carrier (VLCC) currently constructed by Kawasaki Shipbuilding. The new VLCC, which is scheduled to be commissioned by December 2006, has an environmentally-friendly double-hull structure for cargo pump rooms as well as fuel tanks.
