Dredging plan concerns beluga boosters

Some residents of Inuvik are concerned about the impact oil and gas development may have on the region’s beluga whale population. Shell Canada was in Inuvik last week telling people about its plans to build a gas processing facility in the Mackenzie Delta. The company’s Niglintgak natural gas field is estimated to have enough gas to supply all the gas-heated homes in Canada for about a year.
