A.P. Moeller-Maersk A/S, the world’s biggest container-shipping company, and Royal P&O Nedlloyd NV are in talks on the industry’s largest-ever merger. Rotterdam-based P&O Nedlloyd, in a statement today, didn’t give details about the negotiations with the Maersk Sealand unit of Copenhagen-based A.P. Moeller. The merger would create a company with more than twice as much capacity as the next-largest container line, Mediterranean Shipping Co.
