AWARDING the $6 billion navy destroyer project to Adelaide would risk the future of the naval shipbuilding industry in Australia for decades to come, a report commissioned by the Victorian Government has found. Victorian Premier Steve Bracks said yesterday the contract should go to Victoria’s Williamstown shipyard “if Australia is to retain its position as a competitive shipbuilding nation”.
