Ericsson Racing Team names New Zealander Richard Mason as Trimmer

he Ericsson Racing Team has today named Richard Mason as crew (Trimmer / Helm) of Ericsson’s entry in the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-06. Mason, aged 30, is no stranger to the Volvo Ocean Race, competing as trimmer on the boat that finished second in the 2001-02 event. Born in Sydney, Australia, and raised on the west coast of the north island of New Zealand, Mason is one of the most experienced offshore sailors of his age. He has successfully competed in and won nearly all of the major offshore races.
