Thai officials on Monday assured U.S. Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld that violence in their country’s Muslim-dominated south was being addressed and wasn’t tied to global terrorists, while Rumsfeld urged more cooperation against sea piracy, the Thai defence minister said.
