Emma Richards and her crew on her Pindar Alphagraphics won the Open 60 class in the annual Round the Island race. Along with her partner, Mike Sanderson, skipper of ABN Amro in the upcoming Volvo Ocean Race, and other members of the ABN Amro crew, Pindar was first away from a light-wind start early and was never passed at any stage on the traditional 50-mile course around the Isle of Wight by any of the other Open 60’s, crossing fifth of the 1659 boats.
