The group, Save Our Shipyard, wants to send 50 busloads of supporters to the hearing, where federal commissioners will gather testimony that will help them decide the fate of the shipyard and other military installations slated to be closed.

The Pentagon has recommended that the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery and the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Limestone be closed, and that the Brunswick Naval Air Station be realigned and all its planes moved to Florida.
