Kjell Inge Rokke, the majority owner of the Kvaerner Philadelphia Shipyard, faces 30 days in prison after his conviction Friday on charges that he bribed a maritime official to obtain a yacht operator’s license. He was convicted in a district court in Oslo, Norway, home of his business empire, which employs 40,000 worldwide. Rokke, 46, owns a majority stake in most of his holdings, including the Philadelphia shipyard, and delegates day-to-day operations to others. So his conviction and sentence appeared likely to have little effect on his businesses.
