The Port of Charleston handled nearly 2 million shipping containers during the just-ended fiscal year, a record that maintains the port’s ranking as fourth-largest in the nation.
The State Ports Authority said Monday that 1.97 million 20-foot cargo containers passed through its terminals in the year that ended June 30, a 14 percent increase from the previous year.
