Dubai Drydocks awarded major ship conversion deal

Dubai Drydocks has been awarded a $25 million (Dh92 million) contract, one of its largest this year, to convert a giant tanker into a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. Dubai Drydocks has been awarded a $25 million (Dh92 million) contract, one of its largest this year, to convert a giant tanker into a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

Work on Knock Adoon, a 240,000-tonne very large crude carrier (VLCC) owned by Fred Olsen Production (FOP), will begin in early November and be completed within 12 months, said Jens Richard Larsson, marketing manager of Dubai Drydocks.
