The Carnival Sensation’s scheduled departure from Port Canaveral on March 23rd was delayed by more than six hours after Coast Guard inspectors cited the ship for “serious” safety violations related to its fire-control and flood-control systems. The problems were found during a semi-annual inspection as the Sensation was preparing to set out on its first voyage — a four-day cruise to the Bahamas — after spending six months in New Orleans housing police and firefighters following Hurricane Katrina.
