Eight persons, four of them of a family, drowned and seven others remained missing as a mechanized boat sank in Jamuna river on Monday, officials in northern Bangladesh said on Tuesday. The officials said the mechanized boat carrying about 33 passengers was going to the west bank of Jamuna river from northern Jamalpur district, 185 km from Dhaka, in the east bank of Jamuna.
