On May 4th, 2006, during the move of the Hull 028 (M/Y Barchetta) part of the roadway gave way. A two square meter section of pavement bordered by an underground city water line, which unknowingly had been leaking, gave way slowly lowering the front trucks of the moving trailer six inches, which was enough to high center the front axle of the trailer stopping progress. The 157′ Tri-Deck was raised along with the trailer, the sinkhole back filled and the road surface re-supported with steel plates. After repositioning the yacht to continue its journey to the launching ramp a stress failure was noticed in a part of the front trailer. The front portion of the trailer is currently being replaced and the launching process is expected to resume shortly.
