Dredging plan nears approval

Final approval for maintenance and improvement dredging at the boat ramp in Phinneys Harbor, under the Emmons Road Bridge and out into Little Bay, is likely to commence in late fall or early winter. An order of conditions is expected soon from the commission, which is reviewing the project. Norman Hayes of the BSC Group, project designers, said the goal is to create tidal flushing beneath the bridge to Tobey Island and improve water flow into Little Bay as well as maintain the approach to the popular ramp.
