Business is booming at the Arab Ship Building and Repair Yard (Asry) in Bahrain, which reports a net operating income of $44.7 million for the first four months of this year. Sixty-eight vessels, including many Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), were repaired or booked for repair, the shipyard’s board, chaired by Eid Abdulla Yousif, heard yesterday. The board also reviewed and approved the financial statements and auditors’ report for last year, during which net operating income reached around $111 million.
