ABN AMRO ONE has travelled 68 nm since 1600 GMT continues to lead the fleet but more than a day after leaving New York there are still only ten miles between the first six boats. Speeds over the last six hours average at just short of 12 knots, but in the last hour the fleet has easily been achieving 21 knots. There have been slight losses for the main pack; Brunel has slipped a mile since the last position report and is now equal second with Brasil 1, two miles behind Moose and his crew. In fourth place, Pirates of the Caribbean has also lost a mile to be four miles behind the leader, as has Ericsson in fifth, now six miles behind.
