A Philippine shipbuilding company here has announced the successful sea trial of the world’s first commercial-type “Slice” fastcraft vessel designed by the US-based Lockheed Martin, but entirely built by Filipinos. The vessel was built by FBMA Marine, Inc., the shipbuilding company Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV), using American technology. Jon Ramon Aboitiz, AEV president and chief executive officer, said the “Slice” fast craft was constructed in 12 months for US $ 9 million.
