Evergreen Marine Corp has been awarded Best Shipping Line- Intra Asia for the second consecutive year at the Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) 2006. Lee Hock-Saing, Executive Vice President of Evergreen Marine Corp (Malaysia), was presented with the award by Stephen White, Director, Marine Solutions, Thermo King Asia Pacific at a ceremony held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on April 27, 2006. The AFSCA accolade is particularly significant in that it is voted for not by a panel of judges, but by the readership of leading regional freight newspaper Cargonews Asia, which represents shippers from across Asia. Said Mr. Arnold Wang, president of Evergreen Marine Corp. “To receive this award is a great honour for Evergreen. That the ongoing efforts we put into developing our intra-Asia network are appreciated by our customers is both encouraging and motivating.” AFSCA is the latest in an impressive string of awards for the Evergreen Group. In February, Group Chairman Chang Yung-Fa was recognised for his lifetime achievement by international shipping daily Lloyd’s List, while the Group’s UK shipping company, Hatsu Marine Limited, has recently been awarded the coveted Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2006 in the UK.
