MUMBAI: Hectic activities that one witnesses on the oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) front has hooked up most of the shipping companies to queue up with mega plans for the offshore services segment. The primary trigger for this near exodus of shipping companies could said to be NELP programme of the government which, including the recently announced NELP VI, has opened up as many as 164 blocks – with a majority of 103 of them in deep and shallow waters – for energy hunters to exploit.
