UP to 500 holidaymakers have been sent home today after their cruise ship was detained because of a virus outbreak. The Dutch-owned vessel Van Gogh was due to leave Harwich docks in Essex yesterday on a seven-day trip to Norway, but was held following reports that more than 100 people had been infected on its previous journey. Passengers waiting on the dockside to board were turned away.
