The Defence Ministry initiated on Sunday a project to relocate the Ba Son shipyard from HCM City. he VND4 trillion ($250 million) facility, to be located at Cai Mep port in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, will build and service naval vessels. The new shipyard, expected to become operational by 2010, can build 70,000-tonne cargo vessels and repair 15,000-tonne vessels.
