The Indonesian government Friday handed out exploration licenses for four new offshore oil and gas blocks to several international companies, in a move that is expected to help boost the country’s crude oil production. The Sarumana block in the Makassar Straits was awarded to Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM), while the Pasangkayu block in Sulawesi was awarded to a consortium comprising Marathon International and Talisman (Asia) Ltd., a unit of Talisman Energy (TLM), the Mines and Energy Ministry said.
