Construction of the second of a pair of twin bulk carriers for a Taiwan-based shipping company was completed yesterday in Shanghai’s Waigaoqiao shipyard. The new ship, which at 175,000 tons is the biggest of its kind in the world, was built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co Ltd in just 10 months. The order for the twin ships was placed three years ago.
