New Delhi – India’s Supreme Court Monday permitted asbestos- lined ocean liner SS Norway into the country’s territorial waters. The direction came after a pollution control agency had last month barred the ship from entering western Gujarat state’s Alang shipyard where it was due to be scrapped. A two-judge bench of the apex court accepted the interim report of the Committee of Technical Experts on Ship Wrecking and said the ship had to conform to its recommendations.
