Aker Floating Production today announced that it has entered into a contract with Aker Yards related to the conversion of the first and second tanker into Aker Smart FPSOs. Under the contract Aker Yards, Brevik will be responsible for design of the hull structural conversion and conversion of the marine systems, topside supports with interfaces and mooring. Aker Yards will furthermore take responsibility for the conversion of the FPSOs including supervision of the yard work and the commissioning team as well as ensuring that all requirements of Class are incorporated in full.
