Jeffboat to add 1,100 jobs; incentives total $11.3 million

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and officials of American Commercial Lines announced Thursday morning that the barge-maker Jeffboat will add 1,100 jobs to its Jeffersonville operation. Mark Holden, chief executive officer of ACL, Jeffboat’s parent, said the company “was thrilled to partner with the state of Indiana” in expanding the Jeffersonville plant. “We appreciate the governor’s personal involvement in this commitment and the vote of confidence the state of Indiana is giving our company,” he said.
