Navy chief Admiral Arun Prakash will travel to Russia next week to review ongoing defence projects, including the work on Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrier and its MiG-29K fighter complement, and also discuss new projects like the procurement of three more stealth frigates. Admiral Prakash will also impress on top Russian officials the need for strong guarantees on maintenance of delivery schedules of contracted weapon systems, uninterrupted supply of spares and life-term product support, which continue to remain major sources of concern ever since the Soviet Union broke up.
