On Monday the 12th of June, 2006, the new Damen Logistic Support Vessel 6513 “Hr. Ms. Pelikaan”, built to the order of The Royal Netherlands Navy, was handed over to her new Owners at the Damen Shipyards location in Gorinchem. The vessel was partly built at the Damen Galatz facility in Romania and after having successfully sailed on her own power through the Black, Mediterranean and North Sea, “Hr. Ms. Pelikaan” safely arrived in The Netherlands, after a 2 weeks journey, where the remaining outfitting was carried out.
