A man who was killed while working to stabilize a dangerously listing ship off Alaska’s Aleutian Islands on Sunday was an Issaquah resident. Marty Johnson, a naval architect, was a part of a four-member salvage group working on the abandoned Cougar Ace when he slipped and fell, the Coast Guard said.

The group was preparing to disembark the cargo ship when the accident occurred, said Charles Nalen, a vice president for Crowley Maritime, owner of Titan Salvage.
