After a five-day cleanup effort, the Environmental Response Unit of the Canadian Coast Guard announced yesterday that 29,000 litres of oil, spilled in the port at Squamish, has either been recovered or washed up on shore. “The response organizations and the coast guard were all on scene within a couple of hours,” said Canadian Coast Guard environmental response superintendent Don Rodden.
