Project certification for the largest offshore wind farm in the Netherlands has been entrusted to Germanischer Lloyd Industrial Services, business segment Wind Energy (GL Wind). The wind farm is to be constructed approx. 23 kilometres from the coast, off the town of IJmuiden. The 60 wind turbines will yield a total output of 120 megawatts, which is sufficient to provide 125,000 households with electricity and prevent the emission of 225,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
