PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD — The crew of the USS Santa Fe will join five other submarine crews who are calling the Seacoast their temporary home.
The crew of 14 officers and 128 enlisted men arrived at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Thursday morning, cruising down the Piscataqua River on the one-year anniversary of the decision to keep the yard open.
The Santa Fe, the Navy’s 52nd Los Angeles class fast-attack submarine, will be at the yard for about a year, undergoing a $150 million maintenance overhaul and systems upgrade.
