Borough officials say a long-awaited project to dredge sediment clogging Alcyon Lake is set to begin in mid-September.

The borough council awarded a $277,000 contract for the dredging to Franklin Township-based Elk Pipeline on Monday evening. “We’re finally getting to the end of the tunnel on this,” said Councilman Mike Capelli, noting that state approval of a dredging permit is all that is needed now for the work to begin.
