Divers investigating a newly discovered sunken ship in a channel near Port Aransas said an exploratory dive provided some answers but also raised lots of questions. The team of divers made a reconnaissance dive Monday to examine the ship, which a parasailer spotted this summer in about 20 feet of water near San Jose Island.
“It’s a lot older than I thought it would be,” said Steve Hoyt, a marine archaeologist with the Texas Historical Commission.
