Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a $95.8 million contract for the detail design of the U.S. Navy’s 21st century DDG 1000 destroyer. The contract, to be performed by the company’s Ship Systems sector, includes the detail design and the procurement of any vendor-furnished information that will be used in support of the design. The contract runs through September 2007; when fully funded, the contract will total more than $300 million through 2013.
“This detail design contract allows our team to move one significant phase closer to the construction of this technologically advanced destroyer,” said Brian Cuccias, Northrop Grumman vice president of DDG 1000.
