A Suffolk port has joined forces with the lighthouse authority Trinity House in efforts to rebuild areas devastated by the Asian tsunami in 2004. A 20ft container, filled with machine parts, generators and radar equipment will leave the Port of Felixstowe on 6 September for the waters of Sri Lanka.
A Suffolk port has joined forces with the lighthouse authority Trinity House in efforts to rebuild areas devastated by the Asian tsunami in 2004. A 20ft container, filled with machine parts, generators and radar equipment will leave the Port of Felixstowe on 6 September for the waters of Sri Lanka.
Trinity House, also a charitable organisation, bought the goods.
The port has stored the container and will load it onto the ship, the Maersk Dauphin, free of charge.
