BP Pays Record Panama Toll

BP Shipping paid a record $220,300 for express transit of an oil tanker through the Panama Canal. The canal, which links the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans, is facing a backlog following maintenance work. The previous record of $200 th. was set by a container ship sailing to the Atlantic last week.
