The Dung Quat shipyard has imported 1,500 tonnes of steel, the first shipment of steels for the construction of a 100,000-tonne oil tanker.
The oil tanker will be the first ship built by the new Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Corporation in the Dung Quat economic complex, the largest of its kind in Viet Nam so far, which is based in the central province of Quang Ngai.
The corporation is expected to import another 15,000 tonnes of steel to complete the oil tanker.
