Eurodeputies visit the Algarve to analyse the fishing sector

Evaluation could dictate the laying-off of some boats. Delegation of 13 Eurodeputies of the Fishing Commission of the European Parliament (PE) to visit the Algarve between 13th and 15th September to learn of the problems in the fishing sector with a view to a better application of the Community funds, reveals a press communication from the European Parliament.

The visit includes meetings with representatives of fishing associations, boat owners and of the aquaculture (fish farming) sector of the eastern and western Algarve and visits to the fish auction of Sagres and the centre of maritime investigation of the Algarve.
