A cruise ship has rescued nine illegal immigrants from an open-topped boat some twenty miles off Cabo de Gata. The immigrants said they had set off from Algeria three days ago when they were rescued on Thursday. They said a tenth man had fallen overboard. A coastguard helicopter was still searching for him on Thursday evening.
