The newly delivered Damen Stan Patrol 2005, “TRITON”, was named at the Port of Amsterdam on Saturday 9th September, 2006. The ceremony was performed by Mrs. Piena, wife of the Alderman of the Port of Amsterdam Mr. Asscher and witnessed by over 200 persons, including 40 children. The “TRITON” entered service in June and was built for surveillance purposes as well as controlling the busy harbour traffic. As can be seen on the photograph, two sister vessels came along, namely the “Kokmeeuw” of the Dutch Customs and the “Wyckermeer” of the Royal Marechaussee, both of them also on duty in Amsterdam.
