New Delhi – The state-owned Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) has bagged the contract for deepening the channel between Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay under the ambitious Sethusamudram Ship Channel Project (SSCP).
Expected to cost Rs.20.77 billion, the 69 million cubic metres of dredging will be done in four packages, government spokesperson Deepak Sandhu told media after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
