Matt Allen’s Volvo 70 Ichi Ban, the only one of its kind in the country, is due to arrive in Sydney tomorrow morning from Melbourne for its Australian racing debut in the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia’s Bird Island Race.
After finishing the Volvo Ocean Race sailing as Brunel, Ichi Ban returned to Victoria, where it was built, to undergo extensive modifications. The boat was re-launched late last week in Melbourne where it set sail from on Tuesday for the delivery to Sydney.
