Wellington – Team New Zealand entered the last phase of its preparation for the 2007 America’s Cup when its second new-generation yacht left its maker’s yard for the syndicate’s Auckland base this week.

The hull of NZL-92 was tightly wrapped in plastic as it was trucked across Auckland’s Harbour Bridge to the Team New Zealand headquarters at the downtown Viaduct Basin. The world’s newest America’s Cup Class yacht will have its mast and keel, hydraulic and electronic systems and deck hardware fitted over the next two weeks before its official launch.
