The 65-foot fishing vessel Phantom ran aground at 2:45 a.m. today at the entrance to Willapa Bay in Pacific County, Wash., and was bouncing back and forth, buffeted by surf, Bob Koster, civilian search and rescue controller for U.S. Coast Guard Group Astoria said.
He said a 47-foot motor life boat from Station Grays Harbor and an HH-60 helicopter from Air Station Astoria were dispatched to assist the vessel, which is homeported in San Francisco.
