Arive, an Indian employee who has been working at the Samsung Heavy Industries Geoje shipyard design team for almost five years, has high level Korean language skills. He is highly praised for his work capability and also has many Korean friends. Behind the Indian workers high Korean language and work skills lie the Korean classes that he takes every Friday at SHIs Korean language course.
Geoje shipyard opened Korean classes in January 2003 and runs classes three days a week for companys foreign employees.
The program consists of various curriculums including Korean cooking class, Korean song and movies class. The program aims at making foreign workers interested in the Korean language and helping them adapted to living in Korea.
